A GRAPHIC DESIGNER helps to create the visual identity of a show, working within an agency or in a freelance capacity. A GRAPHIC DESIGNER works with the CREATIVE DIRECTOR and/or the ART DIRECTOR on the process of creating a poster (key art) for a show. Once the initial key art design is established, the GRAPHIC DESIGNER will work as part of a team to create the visual media required for the show. This includes designing posters and marquees of various sizes for the front of the theatre, creating outdoor advertisements for billboards, subway posters, taxi tops, and phone kiosks, advertisements for web and print, shareable content for social media, and email blasts. The GRAPHIC DESIGNER also consults with web developers in creating the visual appearance of a show’s website.
