What does a Vocal Coach do?
A VOCAL COACH assists performers in finding their own unique musical style and stage presence. This is typically accomplished through private lessons with an individual ACTOR in order to find what makes them stand out in an already competitive market. VOCAL COACHES are less technical than VOCAL DIRECTORS, focusing on things such as emotional connections to a song, pronunciation, and repertoire building.

How to become a Vocal Coach
Many colleges and universities offer degrees in vocal performance with concentrations or duel enrollment in education. Those starting out may want to seek out apprenticeships with coaches in their regional area. Practicing an instrument, such as the piano, is also important, as this allows prospective vocal coaches to assist with practices and be in the room for training.
